Abstract
529,152. Aerials. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE. May 23, 1939, No. 15329. Convention date, May 24, 1938. [Class 40 (v)] In order to compensate for the small variation of impedance with frequency in a conical aerial suitable for wide frequency-band transmission or reception, the base of the aerial K is connected to a space capacity C through the resistances R which are equivalent to the characteristic impedance of the cone ; alternatively the capacity plate C may be within the cone the resistances R being arranged radially, Fig. 3 (not shown). In a modification the base of the cone may be earthed through resistances R, a counterpoise being fitted opposite the apex. The resistances R may be replaced by cylindrical or annular sheets of resistive material. The invention is applicable to two vertical cones arranged apex to apex, a capacity plate being connected to each cone or to the upper one only the lower one being earthed as above.
