Abstract
528,888. Grinding &c. machines. DECKEL, F., (trading as DECKEL PRAZISIONS-MACHANIK & MASCHINENBAU, F.). May 16, 1939, No. 14630. Convention date, June 10, 1938. Addition to 504,245. [Class 60] The grinding &c. machine described in the parent Specification, has the holder for the band &c. 26 on which the disc wheel 25 rolls arranged so as to be adjustable on the machine frame parallel to the axial movement of the work-holder. The carriage 3, 4 slidable on the guide 1 on the frame, has mounted thereon a tool 7, shown as a milling-cutter, of which the edge 75 is to be ground, and driven as described in the parent Specification by the disc wheel 25 and the band 26. The holder 13 for the band is adjustable transversely, to allow of fitting disc wheels of different sizes, on a part 70, to which it is secured by a screw 71, the part 70 being in the form of a carriage displaceable parallel to the movement of the carriage 3 on a guide 72 on the frame 2 by means of a screw 73. In operation, the tool 7 can be adjusted rotationally by adjustment of the screw 73, whereby the band 26 rolls on the disc wheel 25, and by locking the wheel 25 against rotation, adjustment of the screw causes longitudinal movement of the tool 7 without rotation.
