[Class 108 (i)] A trolley for manoeuvring grounded aeroplanes and other mobile machines, e.g., automobiles, comprises two sections 6, 7 in the form of ramps 9 which are pivotally interconnected about an axis 8 at their meeting ends, and mounted on castors or like devices, i.e., so that the trolley may assume the two positions illustrated. The castor devices constitute fulcra about which the ramps swing automatically, on movement of a ground wheel of an aeroplane &c. up one of the ramps, from the position shown in Fig. 1 to the manoeuvring position shown in Fig. 4, in which the sections may be locked together by a V- shaped keeper 18 the legs of which are inserted in apertured lugs 19 on the sections. Each castor device comprises a ground-engaging roller 13 journalled in a bracket 14 rotatable about a pivot 16 on a flange 17 projecting from a side wall 11 on the adjacent ramp. By placing the keeper on the ground around one of the rollers, movement of the trolley is prevented while the aeroplane &c. wheel is being moved on or off the trolley. Springs 20 may cushion the movements of the trolley sections. The trolley may have less than four castors; e.g. one section may have two castors and the other a single central castor.
