Abstract

526,377. Valve generating circuits. TELEFUNKEN GES. FœR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE. March 14, 1939, No. 8206. Convention date, March 14, 1938. [Class 40 (v)] In a valve generator in which a positivelybiased grid G2 acts as an oscillator anode, the main anode P is connected to the source of positive potential over a resistance W1 such that the D.C. potential on this anode is so much less than the possible A.C. voltage that a rectangular wave-form rich in harmonics is produced. The invention is particularly applicable for use in calibrating the first stage of a superheterodyne receiver having two frequency-changing stages, the second stage being stabilized in frequency. For this purpose, the fundamental oscillation stabilized by crystal Q is taken from grid G2 over circuit K to the second stage and a high harmonic from the anode P is selected by a filter C3, W2 and applied'over lead E to the receiver input.
