Abstract

526,350. Seats. UNIVERSAL INVENTIONS PROPRIETARY, Ltd. March 14, 1939, No. 8143. Convention date, Aug. 31, 1938. [Classes 52 (ii) and 52 (v)] In theatre seats of the kind arranged in straight or arcuate rows each seat portion 15 is provided on its underside with channel-shaped roller tracks 18 within which rollers 22 are arranged being carried on a cheek 24 at each side forming part of a bracket 25 pivoted or fixed to the framing 8 by a rod 26. The back 13 is pivoted to the framing 8 at 12 and is provided at each side with a bar 28 pivoted at its lower end to a link 29 which is pivoted to the seat portion. The seat may pivot about rod 12 and the roller track may have rubber stops at each end for the rollers.
