Abstract
526,181. Air-raid shelters. LAGO, C. March 9, 1939, No. 7688. [Class 20 (i)] An air-raid shelter is formed as a monoblock casting of concrete 13 with through blast passage 14 out of which the entrances 15 to the shelter open; a separate detonating slab 22 is spaced from the roof 12 which is supported by concrete pillars 17 from the solid concrete floor. Resilient material such as cork may be disposed between the roof and the detonating slab which may be formed in sections with resilient material between the sections. Extensions 21 with' inclined inner sides are provided on the structure to enclose the packing and the detonating slab. Wire meshwork may be embedded in the walls near the surface thereof to hold the surfaces together in the event of damage.
