Abstract

526,153. Wireless receiving apparatus. PHILCO RADIO & TELEVISION CORPORATION. March 9. 1939, No. 7661. Convention date, March 10, 1938. [Class 37] Press-button tuning of a wireless set is effected by cams 31 on a shaft 8 which is geared to the tuning condensers. The pressbuttons each carry a pair of rollers 51, 52 which are arranged to engage opposite sides of the associated cam 31, shown in Fig. 8, both rollers engaging shoulders s on the cam when in the fully-operated position. The cams are loosely mounted on shaft 8 between washers 33, which have tongues 34 engaging a key-way 12 in the shaft, the shaft, washers, and cams being rigidly held when the portion 37 of the shaft is screwed into position. The cams are set by releasing portion 37, , depressing the associated key, manually adjusting the condenser shaft to the required position, and tightening portion 37. When a button is depressed and the cam shaft set, it is normally returned at once by spring 49. A spring- pressed locking member 53 which engages notches 56 in the plungers may be provided.
