Abstract

525,282. Musical drums. GRETSCH MANUFACTURING CO., F. Feb. 16, 1939, No. 5210. Convention date, Feb. 21, 1938. [Class 88 (ii)] The coiled wire snares 18 of a drum are released by outward movement of a fingerlever 35 pivoted at 33 and connected to one end of the snares by a member 36 and flexible metal part 28. The member 36 comprises a sliding part 45 adjustable by an internal screw pin with head 50, by which the snare tension is adjusted . Outward movement of the lever 35 is limited by stops 41, and on inward movement to apply the snares the pivot 37 connecting the member 36 to the lever 35 passes the dead centre. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also an arrangement in which a rigid metal link takes the place of the flexible metal part 28. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
