[Class 83 (i)] [Also in Group V] In injection casting-apparatus, for metals and non-metals, provided with moulds 5 mounted on a hollow support 3 adapted to be rocked or turned about an axle 2 at right-angles to the direction of injection to bring each mould alternatively into positions for injecting the material into the mould and for discharging the casting, the devices for opening and closing the moulds are accommodated within the hollow support. As shown, the moulds 5 are made in parts slidable in the support, and may be opened and closed by hand-operated rack-and-pinion devices 6, 7, or they may be opened automatically in the discharge position by screws 12 carrying pinions 13 in mesh with a fixed gear 14. Extracting castings.-Pins 9 for ejecting the castings are operated by rack-and-pinion devices 16, 19.
