Abstract

1,123,691. Injection moulding apparatus. FOSTER YATES & TMOM Ltd. 13 Oct., 1965 [15 July, 1964], No. 29167/64. Heading B5A. Injection moulding apparatus comprises a number of moulds arranged radially on a circular table, each mould having side members 6, 7 and being radially movable between an outer position in which the side members are separated, and an inner position in which the side members are moved to closed position between supporting members 19, 19A. The mould side. members 6, 7 are hinged to an actuating member 8 slidable on guides 18. When the member 8 is retracted the side members 6, 7 close on a core 9, and an end member 10 can be closed and secured by a catch 12. Hydraulic or pneumatic pistons 23, 24 allow for shrinkage or expansion of the moulded article. The end member 10 has a vertically slidable plate (14) (Fig. 2, not shown) having two mould elements (15, 16) each having an injection opening (17) and permitting material of a different colour or quality to be injected a second injection station.
