523,527. Pastes for use in compounding wrinkling enamels. WALDIE, W. A. July 24, 1939, No. 21501. Convention date, May 3. [Class 95] [Also in Group IV] A paste composition for use in compounding enamels of fine textural wrinkle finish, comprises a non-colouring filler dispersed in an oleoresinous varnish comprising raw wrinkling oil and bodied drying oil. Specified non- colouring fillers are asbestine, whiting, magnesium carbonate, diatomaceous earth and china clay, specified wrinkling oils are china wood, oiticica, poyok and parinarium oils, specified bodied drying oils are bodied linseed and perilla oils, and specified resins are kauri, dammar, congo, cumar, pontianak, manila, zanzibar, elemi, mastic, copal, sandarac, phenol-formaldehyde resins and glycerol phthalic acid resins. Examples are given in which asbestine, magnesium carbonate and diatomaceous earth are dispersed, to form a paste, in a varnish comprising a phenol-formaldehyde resin, lead acetate or linoleate, raw china wood oil, bodied linseed oil, toluol or xylol, and high boiling petroleum naphtha.
