Abstract
522,245. Cathode-ray tubes ; electron multipliers. RADIOAKT.-GES. D. S. LOEWE. Feb. 7, 1938, No. 3754. Convention date, Feb. 8, 1937. Addition to 499,744. Drawings to Specification. [Class 39 (i)] A compound screen, as described in the parent Specification, consisting of a photosensitive mosaic and a photosensitive metal net, each of which is sensitized on the side facing the other only, is prepared by placing the net and a mica sheet in the relative positions they are to occupy in the tube, blowing silver vapour on to the screen through the net, removing the net, granulating and sensitizing the screen in known manner, e.g., as described in Specification 459,231, sensitizing the side of the net which is to face the screen and coating the other side with insentitive material, such as carbon, e.g., by blowing China-ink on to it. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes a tube incorporating such a screen, the electron stream being deflected through a right angle by a magnetic field on to a series of multiplying grids. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
