522,192. Rolling. NEWBY, W., and FRAZIER, A. F. July 4, 1939, No. 19464. Convention date, May 6. [Class 83 (iv)] Sheets are fed to cold rolling-mills by a combined guiding and forwarding device comprising four belts 8 running over pulleys on shafts 4. The two centre pulleys 5 are fixed on the shafts but the outer pulleys 6 are mounted to move with auxiliary frames 9 adjusted to and from the inner pulleys by right and left hand screws 12, intergeared at 14, and are provided with tapering flanges 7 that straighten up the sheets on the belts. Auxiliary belts running over pulleys 17 deliver the sheets to the rolls towards which they incline downwards, the sheets passing into the mill over guides 18.
