522,170. Sanitary closets; toilet basins. GROENIGER, W. C. Dec. 2, 1938, No. 35199. [Class 26] A carrier chair for a water closet, toilet basin or the like comprises a base member 10 and an upper frame 18 vertically adjustable upon it, the closet bowl 32 or the like being vertically adjustable on the frame 18. In the form shown, the base 10 comprises feet 11, preferably secured beneath the floor level, and uprights 14 grooved to receive tongues 20 on downwardly extending members 19 of the upper frame, which may thus be held by set-screws in holes 16 at an adjusted height in relation to the base. The pan is secured to the frame 18, which is preferably situated behind the face of the wall, by bolts 27 which pass through_the upper apron 34 and through slots 26 in upright members 24, so that the pan may be vertically-adjusted in relation to the frame. Hinge members 36 for the cover 37 are screwed to the front ends of the bolts. The lower apron 33 'of the pan rests against the heads of the bolts 23 screwed into bosses at the upper ends of the members 19. In a modification the parts 14, 19, 20 are replaced by two vertical cylindrical rods adjustably secured in sockets on the feet 11 and the frame 18.
