Abstract
487,234. Sanitary closets. GROENIGER, W. C. Dec. 15, 1936, No. 34377. [Class 26] In a closet, the down-leg of the dischargesiphon includes a portion, e.g. at 31a, of minimum cross-sectional area less than the average cross-sectional area of the up-leg and terminates in a well 42 and an outlet-part 33, the rear wall of the down-leg terminating above the well and the whole of the siphon being arranged in major portion within the overall dimensions of the upper face of the basin. The dividing wall of the up and down legs is sharpened to provide a horizontal weir 23 which overhangs the lower wall of the down-leg which terminates in a vertical edge 41. Flushing water is supplied to the basin, which is provided with a well 18 of which the deepest part is disposed to one side of the edge of the upper wall of the siphon, by rim-jets 28, a jet 17 in the well opposite the entrance to the siphon and a vortical-jet 27 below the normal water level. The closet is provided with a plate 11 whereby it may be secured in position. Specifications 452,338 and 452,339 are referred to.
