Abstract

521,993. Reservoir brushes. THORPE, T. E. Dec. 1, 1938, No. 35049. [Class 19] A reservoir brush or pad for brushing fabrics with highly volatile liquids, such as carbon tetrachloride comprises a brush carrying cap 3 provided with bristles 6 and a flow-controlling pad or disc 8 with one or more fine perforations 9 so that the fluid tends to flow over' the inside surface of the disc instead of streaming through the holes. The pad 8 may be absorbent and made of compressed asbestos. It may be clamped between the mouth of the container and the crown of the applicator cap to serve as a marginal seal. The bristles 6 may lie against the disc 8 or may be spaced therefrom. In place of bristles 6, pile fabric or the like may be used.
