521,242. Brushes. TIBBINS, A. D. Oct. 29, 1938, No. 31325. [Class 19] A brush 7 is frictionally held in a container 4 by engagement of a rod 6 with a soft washer 1 held in a non-yielding sleeve 2. The brush is partly or wholly projected for use from the container. The washer is preferably of fibre, leather or the like and the sleeve 2 is fixed in a cover 3, preferably pressed from sheet metal, secured to the sheet metal container 4. The sleeve 2 might be made by pressing up the cover 3 at its middle region: Screw means may be adopted for compressing the friction sleeve, but it is preferred to force the friction sleeve into place to grip the rod 6.
