Abstract
520,650. Refrigerators. ELECTROLUX, Ltd. Oct. 27, 1938, No. 31124. Convention date, Nov. 3, 1937. [Class 29] In a refrigerator or other heat - insulated cabinet having 'an inner lining 11 of sheet metal, artificial resin, impregnated pasteboard or other material which is seamless or provided with water - tight joints, the liner has a flange 12 extending over the inner edge of the door frame 10 and is secured to the frame, with the interposition of a packing strip 15, by screws 14. The outer wall 16 is also screwed to the door frame. The flange 12 may have an inturned rim 13 providing a drip edge. The door comprising spaced plates 18, 19 enclosing insulation and secured to a wood frame 20, carries one or two separated packing strips 29, 30 which bear against the door frame outside the edge of the flange 12, and the door does not project into the storage space. Alternatively the lining flange 12 may extend across the door frame and be contacted by the door packing strips. In a modification, Fig. 3, the door frame has a face inclined to the cabinet front and the edge of the door is shaped to correspond. The legs 17 of the cabinet, are secured to the bottom of the door frame, or side members of the door may be extended to form the legs. The interior of the cabinet may be cleaned by spray washing without the risk of water entering joints in the packing.
