Abstract
520,143. Elastic diaphragm pressure gauges. HARCOURT, B. W., and MANN, A. J. Oct. 11, 1938, No. 29394. [Class 106 (ii)] Relates to devices in which the diaphragm operates a switch in the circuit of an indicator h and consists in a two-part housing a, b gripping the diaphragm e, the part a being adapted to prevent excessive deflection of the diaphragm and carrying the switch mechanism, a thrust piece i passing through the part a to operate the switch. The part b is recessed to accommodate the diaphragm as shown and is secured to a pipe connection g. A terminal m carried by the part a is connected to switch blade k which is engaged by the thrust piece i. A second blade r carrying a contact o adjustable by a screw v is attached to the second terminal u carried by the part a. This part also has a recess q to accommodate the head p of the thrust piece so that the surface next the diaphragm is flush with the surface c of the part a when the diaphragm is pressed against it.
