Abstract

518,260. Aluminium salts. HALBERSTADT, L. Jan. 6, 1938, No. 442. [Class 1 (iii)] [Also in Group IV] The recovery of aluminium from aluminiumcoated material such as paper, rubber, fabric &c. is effected by treating with a solvent in presence of an activating agent for the aluminium, whereby solution is effected in a state of dilution such that the support material-is not destroyed. Any known activating agent may be used, such as platinum, mercury, copper, tin, antimony, and their salts. As solvents hydrochloric acid and acetic acid are referred to.
