Abstract
517,293. Centrifugal fans. DIBOVSKY, V. V. July 19, 1938. No. 21363. [Class 110 (i)] Six blades supported between a ring 2 and a disc 1 are substantially equal in radial depth and axial length and the volume swept by the vanes is substantially equal to the volume radially within the swept volume. The'boss 7 may be covered by a shield 5a described by a parabolic curve. The vanes, Fig. 3, are curved to a parabola, the inlet edges make an angle with the radial which is not greater than 65 degrees and the outlet edge angles lie between 20 and 35 degrees. The concave surfaces 3 and the inner edges 3a of the blades lead in rotation. The casing side walls are spaced apart from the rotor and the wall 10 is cylindrical and encloses a volume outside the periphery of the vanes substantially equal to half the volume swept by the vanes. The outlet 14 is tangential and its area is substantially equal to the cross-sectional area of the volume swept by the vanes.
