Abstract

516,065. Impact pulverizers. SKODA WORKS, PLZEN, and TSCHAUNER, L. June 18, 1938, No. 18180. [Class 59] In an impact pulverizer the feed grate bars are pivotally mounted at the end facing the direction of rotation of the hammers and are each provided at the other end with bent up portions slidably guided in grooves in a guide plate so that the grate bars are movable in parallel planes perpendicular to the axis of the rotatable shaft. As shown the hammers 3 pass between bars 5, pivoted at 6, the bars forming a grate at the bottom of the feed hopper. The bars are adjusted in position by means of a support 12 adjustable by set screws and are resiliently held against the support by a spring-controlled bolt 9. The free end. of the bars are curved and are adapted to slide in a guide 8 when struck by the hammers due to the presence of uncrushable material in the grinding chamber. The bars may be resiliently supported at the free ends.
