[Class 44] [Also in Group I] A catch or latch for the doors of cages for birds and small animals comprises a flat bar 1 having a backwardly projecting hook 2 adapted to engage and fold around a wire 3 of the door 4 of the cage and a pair of spaced hooks 5 adapted to fold around a different wire 6. The latch is placed in position by deforming the wires. The wire 3 is cranked. The outer end of the device has a curved projection 12 for engagement with a wire 13 of the cage. The open ends of the hooks may face inwardly and outwardly. The door may be provided with a spring 11.
