514,554. Television. BAIRD TELEVISION, Ltd., and NUTTALL, T. C. May 10, 1938, No. 13879. [Class 40 (iii)] A component of frequency equal to that of line-synchronising signals 1 or a harmonic is added to mixed synchronising signals 1, 2 with such amplitude and phase that the linesynchronising signals remain outside the range 4 of a subsequent amplitude filter for obtaining framing signals. The added component may be selected from the received synchronising signals by a tuned filter, Fig. 6 (not shown), or a harmonic may be derived from a local linefrequency oscillator, Fig. 7 (not shown). For straight sequential scanning the added component has the line frequency. For double intercalated scanning the added component is the second harmonic.
