[Class 81 (ii)] [Also in Group XIV] A bed for invalids, particularly those whose limbs are encased in plaster, comprises a rotatable frame 8, 9, supported on a stand 1, and carrying an auxiliary framework comprising rods 20, 21 adapted to be embedded in the plaster with the patient's limbs or trunk. The stand 1 comprises end frames 5 connected by longitudinal members and an overhead member 35. The rotatable frame comprises side members 9 connected to circular end members 8 with diametral bars 19, and semicircular arches 16, 17 above and below the frames respectively and adjustable along the members 9. The rods 20 are supported at their junction by an upright clamped to a square rod 26 adjustably supported in a braket 27 on the arch 16, and at their outer ends are adjustably secured to the bar 19 by clamps 24. The rods 21 are similarly adjustably supported on a bar 30 of the lower arch 17 and on the bar 19. Shaped rods 22 adjustably clamped to the cross bar at the head of the bed support the head and shoulders of the patient. Spaced bands 37, 38, 39 of canvas &c. support the patient; both upper and lower sets of bands are provided so that the patient may be inverted in applying and removing the plaster. To retain the rotatable frame in position, pins 13 on the frames 5 are screwed into holes in the circular end members 8.
