The rectangular frame 3 may be made of any suitable material, which may also be of any suitable shape and may be provided with members 40 4that are pivotally attached to clamps 41 by pins 42 as shown. It will be observed that the clamps 41 may be firmly clamped aroundthe posts l by screws 43 and the pins 42 may be loosened when it is desired to raise the frame so that the frame may bey adjusted to anysuitable angle. It will be observedthat either end of the frame may be raised, as shown by the dottedv lines.

The super frame which rests upon the posts l may be placed over a bed and the frame 3 and the head rest 21 may be omitted. The super frame may readily be adjusted to theI length and width of the bed and the post-s 1 held to the posts of a bed, which are indicated by the numeral 44 by clamps 45 which have hinged inner members 46 to lit any sized post.

It is also understood that the upper portion of the frame only may be used in combination with a bed having vertical corner posts and the corner posts, which are ind-if cated by the numeral 46 and shown in Fig-- ure 4 may be cut off. A socket 47 may then be provided which has a threaded shank 48 that screws into the portion 5 of the connection 4 and is provided with an opening in the lower end which may be placed over the upper ends of the posts 46. It will be understood that changes may be made in: the construction without departing from the spirit of the invention, one of which changes may be in the use of material of any other shape, another may be in the combination or arrangement ofl any of the parts and still another may be in the use of connections of any other suitable designs.

The construction will be readily understood from the foregoing description.` To use the device it may be assembled as shown with the rod 13 extending to either side and the rods 33 also extending in either direction. It will be observed that by arranging these parts in anysuitable manner it will be possible to hold or stretch any portion of th body.

Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:

1. In a device of the class described, a frame constructed with four vertical posts forming the corners and positioned similar to theposts at the cornersof a bed, transverse members extending across the. end posts, longitudinal members extending across the upper ends of the posts, 4split cla-mp sockets adjustably. attachingxthe transverse and longitudinal members to the posts, another longitudinal member extending across the transverse members, between the two former longitudinal members, split clamp sockets adjustably attaching the said longitudinal member to the transverse members, a plurality of arms attached tothe said latter longitudinal member by split sockets and normally resting on, the said former longitudinal members, attaching y, devices mounted on the saidl arms by split clamp sockets, a rectangular shaped frame horizontally positioned between the said posts and attached to the posts by, split clamp sockets,` said frame forming the frame of a bed upon which a spring may be placed, a plurality of hooks suspended from the said attaching devices and adapted to engage a spring or. auxiliary frame that may be placed upon the bed, a-suitable windlass attached to thehead posts for raising or lowering thesaid hooks, `and an adjustable head rest uponthe head posts. l
