[Classes 97 (i) and 98 (i)] In cameras having an objective coupled with a range-finder for focusing, the movement of the objective is transmitted to the focusing mount of a telescopic supplementary lens mounted in front thereof in such a manner that a movable lens element of the telescope system is adjusted to a different extent from that of the objective to vary the effective focal length. As shown, the objective 6 comprises three elements two of which are in a mount 8 screw-threaded into the shutter casing 9 and the rear element is in a mount 10 screwed to a flange 11 integral with a flange 12 of the casing 9. An adjusting ring 14 has a fine-pitch screw thread on its outer face engaging a thread on the camera front 13, and a thread of steep pitch engaging a thread on the flange 12 so that, by rotating the ring by a knob 16, the shutter casing is moved axially, a screw 18 engaging a slot 17 to prevent rotation. and the range-finder actuated. The supplementary lens L comprises a Tear member 19 screwed to the mount 8 to move with the objective, and having a mount 21 in screw-threaded engagement with the mount 22 of the front lens 20 the mount 22 carrying a pin 26 sliding in the focusing knob 16.
