Abstract
512,250. Rotary engines. TUDA AKT.-GES. March 4, 1938, Nos. 6783 and 6784. Convention dates, March 6, 1937, and Jan. 20, 1938. [Class 110 (ii)] An engine, compressor, or pump comprises eccentric rotors 7, 4, coupled by vanes 49, and an outer fixed casing 1. An end plate 8 of the rotor 7 is keyed to a shaft 10, the other end plate 11 being mounted on a bearing 12 which is supported on a boss 5 extending from the outer casing. The rotor 4 is supported on bearings 16 mounted on a fixed spindle 15. Three spindles 21, carrying rollers 22, are secured to tne rotor 7. the rollers bearing on the bosses of circles 20 cut out of the rotor 4. The vanes 49 slide in slots 19 provided in swivel bearings 18, and extend axially into slots in the walls 8, 11. Oscillating cylinders 17 are mounted in the rotor 4 and carry the bearings 18. Working fluid (in the case of an engine) enters by way of conduits 27, 23 into chambers 46 ... 48, and is exhausted through further conduits 24, 27'. The inlet and outlet pipes contain expansible portions 28, 28<1>. A disc 25 is secured to the cover 11 and rubs against a disc 26" held by a member 26 which is pressed axially by springs 33, 34. Lubricant is supplied to the engine through a channel 35, and a further channel 36 periodically supplies the bearings 16 and passes the lubricant through radial ducts 38, 40, 41, 43, 49<1>, and the lubricant is discharged through a port 45. In a modified arrangement the vanes are solid and the members 17, 18 are replaced by three sleeves in each hole the bases of the sleeves being thicker than the lips which engage the vanes. Only two vanes are provided in this engine.
