Abstract
512,089. Discharge fittings for valves. KING, P. R. V. Sept. 6, 1938, No. 25995. [Class 135] A discharge fitting for taps or faucets comprises two tubes a, b secured together by a ball and socket connection so that the discharge can be directed in any direction. In the form shown the tube a has a ball-shaped enlargement secured to it by soldering, welding adhesives, shrinking or expanding. This enlargement is held against the inturned end of the tube b by a rubber washer d which also serves to. hold the tube a in its adjusted position. A series of rubber sleeves are inserted in the open end of the tube b whereby the fitting may be applied to spouts of any size. The tube a may be fitted with an anti-solash device comprising a metal strip f bent into a star-shape to divide the tube into a number of parallel passages. The tubes may be made of metal or the material sold under the Registered Trade Mark "Bakelite." Specification 386,244 is referred to.
