511,674. Sparking preventing in switches. STRAFFORD, F. R. W., and BELLING & LEE, Ltd. Feb. 26, 1938, No. 5745/37. [Class 38 (v)] An electric switch comprises a fixed contact 17 surrounded by an annular absorbant pad 22 of aerated rubber or felt saturated with electrolyte, and a moving contact 20 which when moved from engagement with the fixed contact 17 still engages the pad 22 until the current is reduced to a value sufficiently low for it to leave the pad and break the circuit without causing radiated electrical interference.
