Abstract

511,340. Bobbins. BRITISH CELANESE, Ltd. Dec. 14, 1938, No. 36430. Convention date, Dec. 17, 1937. [Class 120 (iii)] A bobbin or like yarn holder has a solid body portion bored axially and formed with an axial recess in which a bushing is secured with a portion extending beyond the end of the bobbin and forming a braking surface. As shown the bushing 12 is secured in an. enlarged portion 11 of the bore 9 of the bobbin and the portion extending beyond the end of the bobbin is formed with a pair of flanges 14, 15 forming between them a groove 16 for a brake band, one end of which is 'secured to a fixed part and the other end carries an interchangeable weight. The flange 14 is formed with an annular groove 17 to receive a ring for identifying the quality; denier, twist and filament count of the yarn wound on the bobbin. The bore 18 of the bushing may stop short of the outer end of the bushing.
