511,198. Sewing-machines. COLLINSON, R., and COHEN, L. Feb. 15, 1938, No. 4699. [Class 112] A finger-guard associated with the presserfoot 5 comprises a pail of forwardly-projecting members 13 spaced apart for the passage of the needle 11 between them and upwardly turned at their front ends, one or both of the members having an integral skeleton side shield in the form of comparatively thin ribs of which one (15) forms an intermediate support for a top cross rib 14 extending from front to rear of the guard. The guard is preferably secured to the presser-bar 3 as shown by an integral clip 2 engaged by the screw 4 which secures the presser-foot 5. The ribs of the side shield may vary'in shape and number.
