510,527. Refining iron. THYSSENHUTTE AKT.-GES., A. Feb. 1, 1938, No. 3085. Convention date, April 17, 1937. [Class 72] Molten iron is desulphurised and refined by treating it with a mixture of soda and limestone chips produced by intimately mixing these substances, one or both of which are moistened prior to the mixing and/or both are moistened during the mixing so that the soda adhering to the limestone chips forms a crust thereon.
