Abstract

510,435. Curtain-suspension fittings; synthetic resin articles. BYSON APPLIANCE CO., Ltd., and HARRISON, E. Dec. 28, 1937, No. 35854. [Class 52 (v)] [Also in Group IV] A curtain-suspension fitting comprises a rail a of metal such as aluminium or aluminium alloy which has been first polished and then anodised and glider b of moulded thermoplastic or thermosetting material or of a metal finished in the same manner as the rail, those parts c of the gliders which slide on the rail being covered in at least one direction. The rails may be coloured before or during anodising. The gliders are of U-shape and have holes in the sides in which engage the ends of a stirrup e for the curtain ring or hook. A rib d on the glider contacts with the under surface of the rail to limit tilting movement of the glider. Fig. 4 shows a modification in which the parts c of the glider are undercut and the stirrup e is pivoted to the glider above the level of the rail flange. The glider may have a depending lug extending either transverse or parallel to the rail, apertured for engagement by a stirrup'or loop, or a groove across the inner face of the glider may engage a ring passed between the arms of the glider. The rail may have a slotted groove in which slide cylindrical gliders with webs projecting through the slot.
