510,170. Bituminous compositions. DUSSEK, A. E. H. Jan. 27, 1938, No. 2641. [Class 22] A road-surfacing composition comprises a bituminous solution, mineral aggregate, which may be sand, and not more than 15 per cent. of particles of rubber waste, e.g., old tyres. In examples, a coarse mix comprises 4-14 per cent. of bituminous solution, 50-90 per cent of aggregate composed of particles of granite, slag, clinker or the like of a size from 3/8 to “ of an inch, 4-40 per cent. of sand or slag, clinker or granite dust and 2-15 per cent. of waste rubber particles, and a fine mix comprises 5-15 per cent. of bituminous solution, 70-95 per cent. of fine slag granite or clinker ranging from # in. to dust, and sand, and 1.5 to 15 per cent. of waste rubber particles. A finer mix comprises 6 per cent. of bituminous solution, 92 per cent. of sand or grit and 2 per cent. of waste rubber particles. Specification 465,598 is referred to.
