Abstract
509,904. Temperature-responsive actuating-elements; switches. JAEGERAVIATION. Jan. 24, 1938, No. 2290. Convention date, Feb. 3, 1937. [Class 64 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXVII] A container 8 is divided by a diaphragm 10 into two chambers, 9 containing a gas or non- saturated vapour, and 9<1> containing a saturated vapour derived from a transformer oil which covers contact studs 3, 4. The diaphragm 10 carries a resilient blade 1, connected to a terminal 2, which makes contact with either 3 or 4, depending on the differential pressure of the two fluids when subjected to the same temperature. In a modification, Fig. 2, the diaphragm is replaced by a bellows 10, which carries a contact arm 15 moving over a series of contact studs 17, placed in one of the chambers 20, in an atmosphere of carbon dioxide under pressure to protect the contacts. The other chamber 9 may then contain sulphuric ether.
