Abstract

382,202. Switch cases. DAVIS, R. H., 187, Westminster Bridge Road, London. March 21, 1932, No. 8414. [Class 38 (v).] In fluid tightly enclosed electric switches, e.g. for lamps for submarine use, a flexible diaphragm 13 of metal, rubber, &c., carrying a movable contact 9, is interposed between the stuffing - box 20 of the threaded operating spindle 19 and the contacts 6, 9 as an additional safeguard against leakage. A spring 12 abutting the contact 6 carried by an ebonite block 7 presses a thimble 10 against the battery 1. In a modification the movable contact is operated by a cam on the end of a plain spindle.
