509,525. Refrigerating; making heatinterchangers. UNIVERSAL COOLER CORPORATION, HIGHAM, W. W., and MORSE, S. H. May 14, 1938, No. 14430. [Class 29] . [Also in Group XXII] Evaporators are formed by coiling an extruded metal strip of tubular form 1 having flanges 2, 3, Fig. 4, or 47, 48, Fig. 6, which co-operate when the strip is coiled, to define the wall of the low-temperature freezing chamber. The flanges are removed where necessary at angular portions, Fig. 1, and the opening is closed by a sheet metal strip 15, Fig. 3, having a corrugated downwardly extending portion 17, against which strike the trays inserted into the chamber. A shelf 23 may be directly cooled by tubes 26 supported by bent-out portions 30 of the flanges. The evaporator is provided with two supporting bracket structures 32, 33, 38. The coil may comprise a linked series of U-shaped portions, and the flanges 51 of the coiled tube 50, Fig. 10, may be held together by a metal clamp 52, and may be beaded to receive an aligning wire 53. The surface broken by the tubular portions may be on the inside of the chamber. Fig. 15 shows a tubular structure 70 with a single flange 71.
