509,228. Vehicle lamps. AUGUSTIN. K. Dec. 8, 1938, No. 35889. Convention date, Dec. 8, 1937. [Classes 75 (ii), 75 (iii) and 75 (iv)] An electric vehicle lamp c, rotatable about a vertical axis, is provided, in addition to the Lamp bulb d for normal illumination, with an oppositely-directed screened lamp bulb d<1> for dimmed illumination and a spring contact h<1> is arranged between the bulb holders e<1>, e<2> so that the bulb directed forwardly by rotation of the lamp is energized whilst the other bulb is extinguished. The front glass and a reflector e carrying the holder e<1> are mounted in a hinged ring c'. The rear part of the casing has a cut-out portion in which is mounted a screen consisting of a fine mesh wire fabric, covered with a thin transparent adhering layer of artificial resin or the like, or formed of coloured, e.g. blue, glass, celluloid or the like. The lamp is rotatably mounted by means of a socket c<2> in a ferrule b connected to two clamping bars a for attachment to a support, two projections being provided on the ferrule for engaging alternatively in a notch in the socket for fixing the two positions of the lamp. The lead m to the contact h<1> extends through a sleeve h in the socket c<2>.
