Abstract
508,982. Heat - storing apparatus. BOYSSON, J. A. R. DE. Jan. 28, 1938, No. 2848. Convention date, Jan. 28, 1937. [Class 64 (ii)] A heat accumulating electric heating element for kitchen ranges, water heaters, etc., consists of a metal vessel 1, Fig. 1, containing a mass 4 of sulphur or an aluminium-magnesium-zinccopper alloy which melts at a temperature between the temperatures of utilization of the element, e.g. 300‹ and 500‹ C. The pot 1 is fluid tight when containing sulphur and lined with chromium or silicon carbide when containing alloy, and is surrounded by and heatinsulated from a Dewar flask 2. The top of the pot 1 forms a hot-plate for use in a kitchen range, Fig. 3, in which A, B are heat-accumulating elements. Another element E is provided in the oven and is combined with a thermosiphon circuit F. When applied to water heaters a coiled pipe is arranged in contact with the heat accumulator.
