Abstract

506,737. Launching aircraft. WASLEY, T. J. J. Nov. 29, 1937; No. 32892. [Class 4] Aircraft are launched from a tower provided with a plurality of decks one above the other to which the aircraft are raised by a lift 6. Each deck is divided into nests each provided with launching gear and is provided with a turntable to allow the aircraft to be turned and run into 'an empty nest and to allow the aircraft to be turned to face the wind. Electric driving motors are housed at 15. A storage space 18 is provided and an observation station 16 also provided with guns and searchlights. Living quarters may be provided below the launching platforms. The lifts may be arranged at diametrically opposite points of the tower.
