Abstract

[Class 20 (iv)] [Also in Group XX] Wall coverings are made by projecting an enlarged image of a photographic transparency with an intense beam of ultra-violet light onto a sheet formed of juxtaposed strips of photographically sensitized material, and fixing the strips, with development, if necessary. A quartz lens and condenser may be used. The strips may be treated with a colouring solution before or after exposure, or may be treated before exposure with a colouring solution and treated, for example, by spraying, after develop- . ment with an intensifying or colouring solution. The finished enlargement may be finally treated with a transparent varnish or cellulose solution. The strips may be of paper, linen, or cotton, and may be coated with silver nitrate emulsion or sensitized with ferrous salts. The strips may be numbered to facilitate re-assembly, and may be finally pasted on the wall. Specification 334,591, [Class 20 (iv)], is referred to.
