[Class 136 (iii)] A cycle carrying two riders seated sideby-side comprises two interconnected side frames, each supported :upon a rear wheel 2 and a steering wheel 1 mounted to turn in a steering head 9 at the front of each side frame, in combination with means, such as arms 30 and a transverse jointed link 31, for coupling the two steering wheels together for movement in unison, pedal driving-mechanism 10, 4 for each rider, a fixed handle-bar 46 for one rider situated rearwards of the corresponding steering wheel, and a steering handle-bar 35 for the other rider, the steering handle-bar 35 being mounted to turn in a tube or socket 39 at a position rearwards of the corresponding steering wheel 1 and carrying a cross-head 34 the arms of which are connected by forwardly-extending rods 33 to arms of a cross-head on the pillar 29 of the corresponding steering wheel. The stems of the handle-bars are adjustably mounted within an intermediate pillar 13 of the respective side frame, which pillar is connected by tubes 8, 16 to the head 9 and by tubes 7, 14 to a pillar 12. A seat 26 with a back-rest is supported on each side frame by transverse brackets 27, the pedalcranks 10 being situated well froward of the seats, whereby an effective forward thrust on the pedals is obtained ; or saddles may be employed. The side frames are detachably connected together at the front by cross-bars 18, 18a, and at the rear by a cross-bar 17 and a rear bar 19 of inverted U-form with its depending ends fitting into the ends of the pillars 12.
