504,471. Catalytic pocket igniters. PLATINUM PRODUCTS CORPORATION. Nov. 3, 1937, No. 30176. Convention date, Oct. 26. [Class 75 (iii)] Air is drawn in through an inlet 30 by drawing upon a cigarette C applied to a catalyst P and passes with fuel vapour from absorbent material 29 through channels formed by ribs 34 on the walls of the casing 25, and an opening 31 to the catalyst in a separate compartment 65. The casing 25 is preferably made of mouldable material with the bottom 26 secured as bv cement. The spring lid 27 is held in the closed position by a pin 41 engaging a spring latch 38, secured in a groove 60 in the bottom 26, and is provided with resilient gaskets 44, 45 for sealing the inlet 30 and the upper end of the spring- pressed catalyst holder 50, the lower end of the latter being sealed by a resilient gasket 59. A resilient gasket 54 is also provided between the spring 56 and the supporting washer 55. The catalyst P is mounted between screens S.
