503,184. Removing paint. MACDONALD, A. Sept. 27, 1938, No. 28067. [Classes 91 and 95] A preparation for softening or cleaning paint, french polish, varnish, or the like, is prepared from washing soda, borax, bicarbonate of soda, quick lime, soap, paraffin oil and water. The washing soda is dissolved in water, the solution heated to boiling and the bicarbonate of soda and borax then added. Camphor or other aroma producing substance may be added at this stage. , This liquid is then poured upon the quick lime, and the mixture allowed to settle. The liquid portion is decanted, the soap and paraffin oil added to the residue, and the resulting mass boiled until a uniform paste is obtained.
