503,103. Tensioning yarns. SCHLICK, A., (trading as TEXTIL-MASCHINENFABRIK A. SCHLICK). Oct. 22, 1937, No. 28862. [Class 142 (iv)] A yarn-tensioning device, more particularly for a warping machine comprises fixed and movable members 3, 6 between which the yarn 7 lies in a zigzag path, the movement of the member 3 being damped by a dashpot. The dashpot may be. a piston 31 working in a cylinder 33, a vane in an oil receptacle 17, &c. There may be an open eyelet 9 at each end of the tension device, and a funnel 8 for preventing a balloon from reaching the device. The parts in contact with the yarn may be made of porcelain.
