Abstract

502,980. Signal lamps. BOOT, J., and GENERAL RAILWAY SIGNAL CO., Ltd. Oct. 13, 1937, No. 27882. [Classes 75 (ii) and 75 (iv)] A colour light signal giving close-up indications and eliminating phantom lights comprises a lens as shown giving a substantially parallel central beam of light and an outer divergent beam, and a clear cover-glass 8 having inclined walls 2 preferably roughened or fluted. A metal or other opaque tubular member 14 having radial fins 15 may be used in the system. In signals of the multi-unit type the lens is coloured. Specification 144,282, [Class 75 (ii)], is referred to.
