502,886. Bakers' ovens. BAKOVENBOUW VOORHEEN H. P. DEN BOER N. V. June 22, 1937, No. 17313. Void. Convention date, June 23, 1936. [Class 51 (ii)] In a travelling oven having successive heating zones in each of which the temperature may be regulated independently of that in the other zones, the heating is effected by rows of tubes disposed above and below the goods, and connected to inlet and outlet headers for the heating gases, independently operable valves being provided for controlling the supply of heating gas to or its discharge from each row of tubes. In the form shown, the heating zones are arranged in succession longitudinally of the oven with the tubes 8, 9 in each zone connected at their respective ends to headers 10, 12, and 11, 13; the former pair of headers is connected by a passage 14 with the waste gas flue 16 and the latter pair by a passage 15, in which the valves 20, 21 are arranged, with the heating-gas supply conduit. A modification is described in which the zones of the oven are superposed, the goods to be baked being supported on hangers attached to endless chains which traverse a zigzag path from the bottom to the top of the oven.
