Abstract

502,761. Pocket inhaler. ENGELBRETH, C. Jan. 29, 1938, No. 2897. [Class 81 (ii)] An inhalation apparatus for volatile medicine, comprises a thinwalled vessel 1 of heat-conducting material and a thin layer of medicine upon the inner wall of the vessel which can be completely volatilized by the heat of the hand holding the vessel. 4,5 is a branched inhalation nozzle inserted in the cork 3. Air enters at opening 2, while 6 is a ridge to limit the area covered by the medicine. The medicine is applied dissolved in a volatile solvent which evaporates when the liquid is swirled round the vessel leaving a thin film on the walls. Sufficient solution for a single dose is used at a time. Several forms of apparatus are described.
