Abstract

502,014. R÷ntgen - ray apparatus. GROVES, W. W. (I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges.) July 7, 1937, No. 18880. [Classes 98 (i) and 98 (ii)] R÷ntgen film is transferred from a magazine to a cassette and from the cassette to a storage receptacle or a daylight development vessel, through light-tight slits in the elements connected by a temporary light - tight union. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, the rubber cassette K which may contain intensifying screens V is connected in a light-tight manner with an extension L which is temporarily joined in a light-tight manner with a film magazine also having an extension. The film F is transferred from the magazine to the cassette through the slit S by means of the corrugated or rubber rollers or toothed wheels - W rotated by the crank H. The transferring means may be attached to the magazine. The cassette may have an extension at each end and the film may be transferred by a celluloid strip adhesively joined to the fihn. The cassette may be of metal and may have a film cutting knife actuated by pressing two parts of the cassette together. Light-tight connection of the cassette with the magazine and with the storage receptacle or daylight development vessel can be made by means of an intermediate member, Fig. 4, having extension pieces L<1>, L<2>, light-tight slits S, rollers W, and knives M sliding on knife guides P<1> in the form of wedges under the control of an external handle pivoted on the knives and on a fixed pivot.
